Western Run

Willow posts, bank grading, and sod transplants were used to re-vegetate over 1,000 linear feet of stream banks along Western Run, a naturally reproducing trout stream in Baltimore County Maryland. The existing banks were nearly vertical with high bank erodibility, providing little in the way of overhead cover or habitat for fisheries. The project was designed by Scott McGill, principal with Ecotone, Inc.

Construction

 • Construction was completed in the spring of 1994.

Cost

 • The cost for the stream bank restoration averaged approximately $10.00 per linear foot of stream bank restored and stabilized.
